How Gratitude Can Transform Your Parenting

On-Demand Class · Parenting

This class will introduce you to the benefits of bringing greater awareness to your gratitude as a parent, and practical strategies you can implement at every stage of your parenting journey.

Class Description

You may have noticed that when you are able to be grateful in your parenting role, life seems to run a bit more smoothly or you feel calmer or have a greater sense of joy. Indeed recent clinical studies on gratitude shows that it can help with our physical, mental and social wellbeing. However, when things get tough and you feel tired or challenged, it is difficult to access gratitude. This is why it is important to know about deep gratitude -which is not about being positive or waiting around for positive things to happen before we feel grateful. In this class you will be introduced to approaches to parenting with gratitude that are based on the presenter's 25 years of gratitude research, and which can help you to bring gratitude to your parenting even when you are experiencing difficulties. The class covers the following topics: - Why gratitude is important as parents - How school-aged children benefit from being grateful when they are learning and the parent's role in this. - How to approach your parenting with an inner attitude of gratitude and the significant influence this has on yourself and your child - How to practise self-gratitude - Principles of enabling gratitude in your child No matter what age your child is - a new baby or an adolescent - this class offers you an opportunity to reflect on how to grow your gratitude so that you can parent with greater awareness and resilience.
