Class Description
In today’s times where the kids live in a virtual world, running on the grass, climbing trees, sitting on a swing and digging in the dirt is good for them. Being close to nature is known to give an instant boost to mood and happiness. One of the most important ingredients that goes in the recipe of happiness is gratitude. A grateful person is always a happy person. Incorporating gratitude into everyday life can help kids become happier people when they grow up. One of the best ways to help kids become genuinely grateful is by modelling gratitude. Another way to raise happy kids is to have high and reasonable expectations from the child. Kids who strive to do hard things are more likely to live happier lives. Our expectations as parents can have a big impact on our child’s willingness to challenge himself. When kids know we expect a certain level from them, they are naturally inclined to work hard to meet our expectations. This, in turn, enhances their scholastic and social resilience. Overindulging children with gifts and giving them whatever they demand at the drop of a hat often leads to more harm than good. Children fail to differentiate between wants and needs in this case and tend to think that happiness lies in hoarding material goods. It’s best to encourage children to earn privileges because this way they learn to value things and also work hard to get them. It is possible to raise happy kids by making some daily and consistent habits a part of children’s upbringing.
