As a mom of twins, I know how overwhelming it can be to hear the words "Congratulations! There's 2!" Born at 31 weeks, my identical twin girls were diagnosed with Twin Anemia Polycythemia Sequence, a rare disease that affects monochorionic (shared placenta) twins. Since then, I've worked with researchers to raise awareness of the complications of twins, and also help families advocate for care. I'm a regular speaker on TAPS, and other multiple birth-related topics, and am involved in several twin communities and organizations. My passion is to make sure that each and every family around the world that's expecting multiples knows what kind of twins they're having, what standard of care they need, and most importantly, how to advocate for their own care.
