Class Description
Experts agree that one of the best strategies to avoid picky eating is to get children involved in preparing their food. However, few resources actually show busy moms how to do this. Let's be honest: as moms, our hands are full, and letting the kids help often takes longer than doing the job ourselves. But this class gives you practical demonstrations of kids of all ages doing important jobs likes unpacking groceries, washing greens, peeling, chopping, basting, grating, preparing their own snacks, and plating dinner for the family. These are life skills that not only forge strong bonds between you and your children, but set them up for lifelong healthy eating habits and skills to feed themselves properly in your absence! Kids in the Kitchen is both instructional and inspirational. It's a way to show moms in the trenches the joy that can be achieved through feeding their children well and letting them become the "bosses" in the kitchen. In this course, you'll find the wisdom only a mom can have from feeding 5 very different children - coupled with expertise in functional nutrition. The course is broken down into 6 "bite-sized" videos. As moms, we don't have large chunks of time to dedicate to learning, so each video is between 10 and 30 minutes long. You can easily knock out the whole course in just 1 week. Here is the course outline: Introduction: Creating a Family Food Culture Part 1: 5 Secrets to Raising Kids Who Eat Anything Part 2: Tips for Avoiding Picky Eating Part 3: Age-Appropriate Jobs for Your Child Part 4: Snacks & Meals Part 5: My Favorite Kitchen Tools & Containers "Kids in the Kitchen" comes with an interactive workbook to enhance your learning. You will also get Melissa's Healthy Snacking Guide for snacks on the go, recipes for DIY oatmeal mix, breakfast breads, and customizable family meal schedules that include chores the kids can help with. You will love all the resources you find in this course!
