Class Description
For many generations, the expectations of young children's ability to manage their emotions, separate from us, and manage interactions with peers did not take into account their brain development and its impact. In this session, you will learn about: How brain development impacts the social-emotional development of young children and their ability to understand the feelings of others, resist impulses, use memory, and move ideas from one place to another Why children have big emotions and how to help them cope Strategies for separation anxiety How and why children choose playmates and the stages of play Why sharing is so difficult for young children Learn about how we can help children have a strong foundation for managing their emotions and interacting with the people around them in a way that builds their sense of safety, security, and self-worth. We can do better with this generation of young children so they can become more confident adults.
